Résumé
Depuis que les outils de la biologie moléculaire et du séquençage ont été accessibles pour l’identification de biomarqueurs, biologistes et pathologistes se sont focalisés sur le génome tumoral, dont les altérations sont responsables de l’oncogenèse et de la progression des cancers, laissant aux épidémiologistes l’étude du génome constitutionnel pour l’identification de facteurs de risque de survenue des cancers. L’oncologie offre en effet cette particularité d’offrir deux génomes distincts à l’étude des chercheurs : le génome du patient et celui de la tumeur qui, certes, dérive du premier mais après avoir subi des altérations, d’importance très variable.
