Résumé

Quand la douleur pelvienne est devenue chronique (évoluant depuis plus de 6 mois) et que les bilans lésionnels habituels restent désespérément négatifs (imagerie, endoscopie…), commence alors une démarche diagnostique qui sort du champ habituel des pathologies d’organes (douleur « anorganique ») c’est le domaine des « douleurs fonctionnelles ». Pourtant le terme de douleur « dysfonctionnelle » apparaît plus adapté en Français, traduisant plus exactement le functionnal pain [1] anglais car soulignant l’existence de l’altération d’une fonction, mais aussi d’un dysfonctionnement des mécanismes de régulation de la douleur et ne préjugeant pas de la cause.
