Résumé

L’incidence du cancer de l’endomètre a atteint 6 800 cas en 2011 en France pour une mortalité de 2 080 cas, alors que le taux d’incidence standardisé à la population européenne était de 13,6 pour 100 000 femmes en 2005 [1]. Sur le plan épidémiologique, on considère qu’il existe deux types de cancers de l’endomètre: un type œstrogéno-dépendant peu agressif et bien différencié (carcinome endométrioïde de grade 1, 2) et un type œstrogéno-indépendant, plus agressif (carcinome endométrioïde de grade 3, carcinome séreux ou à cellules claires) [6]. Par ailleurs, le tamoxifène, largement utilisé pour son effet protecteur vis-à-vis du cancer du sein, a un effet œstrogène-like sur l’endomètre. Son utilisation augmente le risque de développer un cancer de l’endomètre [7, 8].
