Résumé

L’implantation d’une prothèse totale de genou (PTG) est devenue très courante, y compris chez la personne très âgée. L’indication et les complications per- ou postopératoire diffèrent sensiblement chez la personne âgée fragile par rapport à la population plus jeune [1]. Cependant, ainsi que cela a déjà été abordé à plusieurs reprises et dans plusieurs chapitres de cet ouvrage, la définition de la fragilité est complexe, et la notion à prendre en compte est plus souvent celle d’autonomie pour poser l’indication chirurgicale. Les problèmes médicaux, comportementaux et sociaux que présente cette population, compliquent à la fois la prise en charge péri-opératoire et la réhabilitation.
