Ce chapitre est tout entier consacré à l’information relative aux risques médicaux pour le patient et pour le médecin, en abordant le sujet par différentes facettes: l’information technique au patient sur le risque d’événement indésirable avant le soin, l’information au patient après le soin et la survenue de l’événement indésirable, la participation des patients à leur prise en charge, les nouveaux médias de diffusion de l’information sur le risque et le médecin comme seconde victime des erreurs commises171.
