Résumé
Le tissu adipeux (TA) est une variété de tissu conjonctif. Il est classé dans la catégorie des tissus conjonctifs lâches et à ce titre il est constitué de cellules adipeuses, ou adipocytes, séparées par une mince couche de matrice extracellulaire comprenant un squelette de fibres, notamment des fibres de collagène et de nombreux vaisseaux. Il existe deux types de TA: le TA blanc et le TA brun. Dans ce chapitre, nous décrirons le TA blanc physiologique ainsi que ses modifications histologiques au cours d’une pathologie liée directement à ce tissu, l’obésité et ses conséquences délétères qui contribuent aux complications métaboliques liées à cette maladie.
