Résumé

L’hypertension portale (HTP), définie par l’augmentation du gradient de pression porto-cave au-dessus de 5 mmHg, est responsable du développement des varices splanchniques, majoritairement oesophagiennes et gastriques. La principale complication de ces varices est l’hémorragie digestive engageant le pronostique vital, particulièrement chez les patients cirrhotiques présentant des troubles de la coagulation.
