Résumé
Alors qu’il est établi que la santé de personnes âgées doit être évaluée selon plusieurs dimensions et que l’état de santé après 75 ans - même s’il est hétérogène - s’améliore depuis quelques décennies, il semble que des disparités existent dans l’admission des personnes âgées en réanimation. Ainsi, en Île-de-France, les taux de personnes âgées hospitalisées en réanimation varient-ils du simple au triple selon les hôpitaux (données de la base CUB-Réa regroupant 35 services de réanimation d’Île-de-France), ce qui ne peut refléter uniquement la disparité des bassins de recrutement des hôpitaux. De récents travaux montrent également qu’en France toujours, la probabilité d’admission en réanimation d’un patient de plus de 80 ans présentant une indication d’admission peut varier du simple au double selon le service d’accueil des urgences où il se présente (données de l’étude ICE-CUB1, article soumis).
