Résumé
Les associations melphalan — prednisone — thalidomide (MPT) et melphalan — prednisone — bortezomib (MPV) sont devenus les nouveaux traitements de référence du myélome multiple de novo chez le sujet âgé. Dans un futur proche d’autres associations, notamment à base de lenalidomide vont également s’avérées supérieures au MP seul. Ces nouvelles options thérapeutiques vont offrir la possibilité d’un traitement plus personnalisé, adapté au degré d’agressivité de la pathologie et aux comorbidités présentées par le patient. La gestion optimale du traitement symptomatique et des toxicités de ces nouvelles associations thérapeutiques reste un élément crucial tout particulièrement dans les premiers mois de traitement.
