Résumé
Le fonctionnement de l’axe reproductif est intimement lié au statut nutritionnel. Dans de nombreuses espèces, l’adaptation du système de reproduction aux saisons ou aux conditions climatiques a pour objectif d’optimiser les chances de survie de la descendance. Le système reproductif des femelles est plus sensible aux conditions nutritionnelles que celui des mâles car la grossesse et l’allaitement représentent une grande dépense énergétique. De nombreuses données expérimentales chez l’animal ont permis de mieux comprendre les relations entre nutrition et reproduction et ont conduit à des modifications nutritionnelles pour améliorer la reproduction notamment dans les élevages.
