Résumé

Lors de leur présentation initiale, environ 30 % des tumeurs malignes solides sont d’emblée métastatiques, généralement incurables. Pour les autres, tumeurs locales ou locorégionales, le traitement curateur sera assuré par la chirurgie dans 60 % des cas, la radiothérapie dans 30 %, et la chimiothérapie dans 5 % [1]. Malgré un traitement apparemment curateur, environ la moitié des patients vont présenter une récidive locorégionale dans le site initial de la tumeur, ou une métastase, à distance.
