Abstract
L’ECMO est une circulation extracorporelle de longue durée, sortie du bloc opératoire et pouvant remplacer les fonctions cardiaque et/ou respiratoire. De dimension de plus en plus réduite, de nouvelles consoles devraient permettre, dans un avenir proche, son utilisation et sa diffusion dans des réanimations et des blocs opératoires hors CHU, faciliter les transports des patients sous assistance, par terre ou via les airs.
