Abstrait

La prévalence des coronaropathies augmente avec l’âge. On retrouve en effet, après 75 ans plus de 20 % de coronariens. L’incidence de l’infarctus du myocarde est de 8 à 10 % après 80 ans, quand elle est inférieure à 2% avant 60 ans. Les sujets âgés ne sont pas uniquement plus souvent touchés par l’infarctus du myocarde que les sujets plus jeunes, ils le sont également plus sévèrement avec une mortalité multipliée par 3 après 75 ans.
