Abstrait
Selon l’organisation mondiale de la santé, en 2025, il y aura 1,2 milliard de personnes de plus de 60 ans à l’échelle mondiale dont 75 % vivront dans les pays développés. Le sous-groupe des plus de 80 ans est celui qui augmente le plus rapidement. La prise en charge appropriée des sujets âgés fragiles sera une priorité de santé publique et ce, dans le but de diminuer le nombre de patients dépendants et les coûts du vieillissement. Le concept de fragilité a été élaboré dans la littérature gériatrique depuis de nombreuses années. De plus en plus d’auteurs traitent de ce sujet en tentant d’identifier le modèle de dépistage le plus fiable et pratique.
