Résumé

Nous savons qu’une large partie de l’humanité utilise des médecines, qui, présentes dans notre société, n’y sont pas les plus courantes. Certaines sont trés anciennes comme la médecine traditionnelle chinoise qui a posé des bases qui demeurent stables depuis bien avant notre ére. La médecine hippocratique, elle, commence au IVe siécle avant J.-C. Cependant, de nos jours, en France comme dans la plupart des pays á haut niveau de vie, sans remettre en cause le choix dominant d’une médecine académique fondée sur les sciences, nous voyons émerger (ou resurgir) des pratiques qui s’en distinguent, ou proposent d’en combler les manques ou d’en adoucir les dysfonctionnements.
