Intérêt des nouvelles techniques de radiothérapie des cancers du sein non métastasés

Abstrait

De nombreux progrès ont été réalisés dans le cancer du sein au cours des dernières années. La radiothérapie postopératoire du sein en totalité diminue le risque de récidive locale et une méta-analyse a montré qu’elle améliorait même la survie (13). Dans le même temps grâce aux progrès des traitements adjuvants, la mortalité du cancer du sein a diminué (4). La morbidité a également pu être réduite grâce à l’équivalence démontrée entre traitements conservateurs et mastectomie pour le sein, et entre curage axillaire et ganglion sentinelle pour les creux axillaires non envahis.
