Abstrait
La nutrition parentérale, lorsqu’elle est indiquée et correctement prescrite, permet ďoptimiser la qualité des soins des patients en évitant ou en limitant ľapparition ďune dénutrition. C’est un véritable soin de support. Cependant, bien qu’il y ait eu de réels progrès, la nutrition parentérale est encore grevée ďun nombre important de complications dont une majorité peut être évitée par un choix judicieux de ľindication, une maîtrise de la technique et de la surveillance. Ľincidence des complications est très variable ďune équipe à ľautre, et est dépendante de ľexpérience de ľéquipe et de sa maîtrise technologique.
