Abstract
These recollections by Jule Charney are a condensed version of the transcript of a tape-recorded interview I made with him in August 1980. The verbatim transcript (primarily by Joel Sloman) is on deposit, with the tapes, in the Archives of MIT. It was published by the National Center for Atmospheric Research (“Conversations with Jule Charney,” Technical Note 298, 169 pp., 1987).
