Abstract
Any discussion of agricultural meteorology is incomplete if consideration is not given to the hydrologic cycle. Those aspects of the hydrologic cycle involving the soil are the subject of this chapter, for the reservoir of water in the soil permits transpiration to continue and plants to survive between rains.
