Abstract
Moderator Hines pointed out that the panelists have been asked to consider three kinds of approaches to a better theoretical understanding of the neutral upper atmosphere: First, in what areas are theoretical advances on the point of being made more or less all on their own? Second, in what ways could theoretical advances be made very rapidly if only experimenters would provide specific types of data? And third, in what ways would the experimenters be well advised to take advantage of theory already available and so make their leaps forward?
