Abstract
In this paper, a brief summary is presented of ongoing work dealing with the derivation of the Surface Radiation Budget (SRB) from satellite observations. The discussion will focus on the description of: (1) a model for deriving downwelling global solar radiation, (2) regression techniques for inferring the total net radiation from planetary net radiation, and (3) the possibility for comparing the planetary and surface radiation budgets over the Tibetan Plateau.
