Abstract
The departure fields of the radiation budgets over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau during May–August 1979 are decomposed by the EOF expansion method. The results are as follows: eigenvector No.1 of the radiation budgets over the Plateau is characterized as an important component of the seasonal transitions. Before the seasonal transition, the time-coefficients of Q,A,Q(1-A) and F are all positive, and then they change to the negative. It is interesting that the time-coefficient of the B value changes with time. The negative values become positive from the pre-seasonal transition to the post-seasonal transition, and it is opposite to the trend of other components of the radiation budget. The reason may be related to the unique characteristics in the weather and climate over the Qinghai-Xizang Plateau.
