Abstract
Soon after the Toronto meetings Banerji inquired whether I would accept an invitation from the Indian Science Congress to attend their annual session, this time to be held in Patna, the capital of Bihar, in early January 1948. If I were able to accept this invitation I would also be invited to serve as adviser to the Indian Meteorological Service for a period of about ten weeks. I would be expected to visit a few of the major universities and meteorological centers and to give a series of lectures and laboratory instruction at the Central Observatory at Poona, where leading meteorologists would be present during my visit.
