Abstract

Malalignment of the distal tibia and ankle is a common problem that is largely left untreated even in this era of modern orthopedics. The lack of interest in treating these deformities can be attributed to the deficiency of a safe and reliable method for correction. In our hands correction of distal tibial and ankle deformities using a percutaneous osteotomy and a minimally invasive circular external fixator has yielded excellent and reproducible results with minimal complications.
