Abstract
Human nervous system is a highly differentiated and specialized tissue that minimizes its potential for regeneration and self-renewal in response to injury. Conventional attempt at the repair of adult brain and spinal cord by pharmacological therapy has been largely unsuccessful and had very limited clinical impact. Yet developmental and acquired neurological disabilities contribute to significant socio-economic burden in any community.
