Abstract

In this chapter, we introduce two integration tools for smart environments: SitCom and CHiLiX. CHiLiX is an eventing middleware component for receiving messages from remote perceptual components and for controlling their status from services and situation modeling components. SitCom is a platform for developing context-aware services, editing and deploying context situation models, and simulating perceptual components. SitCom, which stands for Situation Composer, is constructed as an open and extensible framework with rich graphical rendering capabilities, including 3D visualization.
