Patient
This is a 38-year-old male marathon runner who presented in November 2006 in our Heart Department for second opinion regarding the presence of tricuspid valvular regurgitation and implications for participation in marathon racing. The patient reported no discomfort and trained regularly and without limitations. He reported a previous diagnosis of valve disease in 2001 in a routine check-up by the local cardiologist. Besides deep venous thrombosis after long flight in January 2005, there were no relevant issues. He takes no medication, no drugs, or nicotine.
