Abstract
One of the basic notions associated with electrical power utilisation is that of Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) – between electric equipment and its environment, or between this equipment and any other equipment; it is, according to the International Electro-technical Commission (IEC) definition “the ability of an equipment or system to function satisfactorily in its electromagnetic environment without introducing intolerable electromagnetic disturbances to anything in that environment”.
