Abstract

Energy and fresh water are the two major commodities that furnish the fundamentals of every human activity for a reasonable and sustainable quality of life. Energy is the fuel for growth, an essential requirement for economic and social development. Presently, the global energy challenge is to tackle the threat of climate change, meet the rising demand for energy and to safeguard security of energy supplies. Renewable energy and especially solar irradiation are effective energy technologies that are ready for global deployment today on a scale that can help tackle climate change problems. Solar energy is the most ancient source and the root for almost all fossil and renewable types.
