16-year-old female with a history of prior therapy for a congenital lesion

The left ventricular chamber size and function appear normal.

The right ventricle also appears normal in size and function. No wall motion abnormalities are seen.

On the 2-chamber view, turbulent flow is noted in the proximal descending aorta. A dedicated image through this region confirms turbulent flow. A subsequently performed MR angiogram confirms an area of focal narrowing in the proximal descending aorta just distal to the left subclavian artery. Subsequently obtained velocity-encoded images demonstrate a gradient of 20mm Hg. through this region.
