Short-axis views demonstrate that the left ventricular thickness is at the upper limits of normal. The left ventricular cavity size is normal. The wall motion is normal throughout.
The right ventricle is normal in size and function. Evaluation of the valvular structures shows that the patient has a mild degree of mitral regurgitation. The aortic valve is competent and normal in appearance. A trace amount of tricuspid insufficiency is noted.
