Abstract
Whether the surgeon is performing a total hip replacement or a hip resurfacing, through either a traditional extensile approach or a mini incision surgery (MIS) approach, then the acetabular anatomy must be seen. I refuse to allow trainee surgeons to proceed with reaming the acetabulum until they can show me a 360-degree view of the acetabular walls, the tear drop, and the true floor of the acetabulum.
