Abstract
A control system, based on the above developments, is developed and applied to a precision 3D Cartesian robotic system as shown in Fig. 8.1 with a travel of 250×400×50 (dimensions are in mm). Other engineering aspects are signficant to the overall development effort, such as sizing and choice of components, hardware architecture, software development platform, user interface design and performance assessment. Details of these aspects are described in the ensuing sections.
