This chapter provides an overview of noninvasive and invasive braincomputer interfaces (BCIs). From a higher-level view, the chapter contains two major sections. Initially, the chapter describes fundamental mechanisms underlying BCI control. The chapter then describes several applications of BCIs in clinical environments.
