Abstract

The transplant physician and surgeon need to have a sound understanding of transplant outcomes. The authors review various factors that impact survival of kidney and pancreas transplantation. Also discussed are the implications of outcomes data on patient and regimen selection. The basic premises of survival analysis and relevant terminology are presented in the context of a framework for clinical practice.
