Abstract
Alopecia areata is a disease characterized by nonscarring alopecia, generally in circular patterns on the scalp. The disease appears to be caused by autoimmune attack on hair follicles mediated by T cells. Here, we present two cases of alopecia areata, one that responded quite well to treatment and another that was quite refractory.
