Einstein referred to compound interest as the Eighth Wonder of the World (see Table 1 for the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World). How did this scientist, from all of my reading, a somewhat absent–minded individual with no particular investment prowess, come to make this comment, which merits the third chapter in this book and a detailed discussion?
