Pulmonary Metastases in Patients with Advanced Renal Cell Carcinoma: Role of Metastasectomy

  • Chapter

Abstract

The chest is the most common site of metastasis from renal cell carcinoma. Mastatectomy plays a central role in the management of these patients. Preoperative evaluation should focus on identifying patients who are likely to be completely resected. Improved long-term outcomes can be predicted in patients who do not exhibit regional lymph node involvement and who have adequate pulmonary reserve.
