Mode of inheritance is important for predicting clinical status of individuals carrying mutations and for risk assessment of family members of a patient affected with a genetic disease. Modes include:

  • Autosomal recessive (AR)

  • Autosomal dominant (AD)

  • X-linked

  • Mitochondrial
