Querying GlycoSuiteDB

Handbook of Proteomic Methods

Abstract

GlycoSuiteDB (http://www.glycosuite.com) (1) is a curated and annotated relational database of glycoprotein glycan structures. The database contains more than 7500 entries of validated N- and 0-linked structures reported in the literature. Entries (Fig. 1) contain information, when available, on the (1) glycan structure (including glycan type, linkage, mass, and composition); (2) biological source (e.g., native and recombinant species, tissue and/or cell type, strain, blood group, and disease); (3) protein (name, known sites of glycosylation, and the attachment sites of the individual glycan structure where known); (4) literature references; and (5) analytical methods used to determine the structure. Each entry also has a two-dimensional image of the glycan structure.
