Abstract
Aspergillosis may develop as a granulomatous, necrotizing, and cavitary disease that frequently affects the lungs (1),but may also disseminate to other organs (2) The causative agents of the disease are fungi belonging to the genus Aspergillus. Several Aspergillus spp. have been implicated as human pathogens, namely, A. fumigatus, A. niger, A. flavus, A. terreus, A. nidulans, and A. clavatus. Recently, A. ustus has also emerged as an opportunistic pathogen in immunocompromised patients (3).
