Abstract

Nutrition is a basic need, and as such one of the desired outcomes of economic development. There are compelling reasons for investing in nutrition other than its economic benefits. Nevertheless, quantifying these economic benefits can be useful in order to advocate increased resources for nutrition programs. Economic analysis can also help to make informed decisions about the type of nutrition interventions to fund.
