Abstract

Propinquity is a seldom-used noun meaning contact, closeness, or kinship. The previous quote is a political truism testifying to the importance of close personal contact in achieving political success. Proteins are a lot like politicians in that respect, because in most cellular biochemistry, as in legislative politics, teamwork is required.
