Abstract
The first successful xenotransplant of cultured human cells in nude mice was achieved by Giovanella et al. (1), who inoculated a suspension of melanoma cells subcutaneously in a nude mouse. This result was confirmed and extended by the same author (Giovanella et al. (2,3) and by others (4–9).
