Abstract
It can be argued that the modern era of urology began with the development of the cystoscope. The introduction of the new technology of endoscopy complemented traditional instruments of urologie treatment: sounds, catheters, and bougies. Endoscopy remains an integral part of urologie diagnosis and treatment planning. The traditional urologie tools have been enhanced by modern imaging techniques, expanding the scope of office urology.
