Abstract
Although data separation and migration are among the most complex, riskiest, and critical activities involved in a divestiture, they are not typically considered during the initial planning and blueprinting phases. The quality of data migration and separation can significantly affect business operations and intelligence, as well as the overall transaction timeline. This chapter outlines key considerations and challenges encountered during data separation and migration and provides recommendations on how to manage these activities.
