Abstract
The International Union of Food Science and Technology (IUFoST) has developed its strategic plan around three thrusts: Education and Training, Food Security, and Food Safety. Within Education and Training there are two active areas under development: (1) Core Curriculum in Food Science and Technology and (2) Distance Education. In the presentation made at the World Congress in Brazil in 2012, activity in distance education was reviewed. The purpose of this contribution is to provide information on accessing the distance-assisted training program and to briefly review the application of the program to participants.
