Abstract
This chapter considers the factors that relate to the development of female sexual dysfunction (FSD), as well as new treatment approaches to these problems. The role of biological, psychological, and relationship factors is examined. Treatment approaches to FSD are also evaluated. New approaches to the treatment of FSD are considered, in particular mindful-based therapy as well as Internet therapies. Although there are limited data on the effectiveness of medical approaches to FSD, it is argued that combined medical and psychological interventions need to be the focus of future research in this field.
