Abstract
Family tragedy and the lingering symptoms caused by William Humason’s bout with typhoid, lead the Humason family to move west to Los Angeles where they meet Laura Humason’s sister, Alice, and her husband, Henry Witmer. United in an effort to overcome their misfortune the families begin to build on the future Henry Witmer and his brother’s had begun decades before.
