Autism Service Delivery

Part of the book series: Autism and Child Psychopathology Series ((ACPS))

Abstract

This chapter reviews staff preparation and performance management methods within human service organizations (HSOs) for children and adults with autism. From an applied perspective, HSOs must define staff responsibilities and implement evidence-based and empirically supported procedures in the context of didactic, simulated, in vivo, and peer training. The focus of performance management is on conducting staff supervision to sustain and generalize trained skills. Several examples of effective performance management programs are presented.
